What do you see?

I want to see the world through God's eyes. I want to see people as He sees them.

When I walk down the street, I see the punk, the geek, the valley girl, the crabby.

When God's sees these people, He doesn't see any of that. He sees His lost children made in His image, and He weeps over them.

I thought of that the other day and it kind of shocked me.

These people that we sometimes tease because they're different... God weeps over them, because He made them.

They are not weird. They are lost.

God, let me see people the way you see them. Individuals. Precious. Made in Your image. Empty and lost without you. Captive.
People Christ died for.

Our call to war, to love the captive soul,
But to rage against the captor.
And with the sword that makes the wounded whole,
We will fight with faith and valor.
When faced with trials on every side,
We know the outcome is secure.
And Christ will have the prize for which He died;
An inheritance of nations

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

~ 1 Samuel 16:7
